Curtis Harrison works hard to help individuals avoid the courthouse in resolving their disputes. Divorces and modification suits are hard enough without burdening the couple with the gristmill of litigation.

Curtis understands that family law problems involve life-altering decisions that often must be made while under extreme stress. He takes the time to understand each client’s circumstances, and then maps out the available options at each decision point in the case. He works with clients to choose the best route, whether through mediation, collaborative law, or litigation, to accomplish their most important objectives.

Curtis maintains a full caseload, assisting his clients’ with the traumatic consequences of divorce, child custody, termination of parental rights, and other family law matters. He is trained in the art of Collaborative Law in addition to his extensive family law litigation experience. He also handles civil litigation and estate planning matters, and provides counsel to a number of business entities in the North Texas community.

Curtis also has a passion for the sensitive issues involved in child custody cases. As a father of three children, he is especially interested in shielding children from the impact of divorce, and he works vigorously to make their voices heard. Curtis is known for exploring parenting options with clients, and helping them develop customized plans that benefit the children and achieve his clients’ goals.

As a partner working in the Plano office of Goranson Bain, Curtis serves a range of professional clients who live in Collin County, along with Grayson, Dallas and Denton Counties. With over 18 years of litigation experience, Curtis is very comfortable dealing with the intricacies of complex property issues.

Curtis is a graduate of Baylor University School of Law. He is licensed by the Texas Supreme Court to practice in Texas State courts and has been admitted to practice in the Federal District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas. He is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. a member of the College of the State Bar, the Texas Academy of Family Law Specialists, the Collin County Bar Association and the Dallas Bar Association.
