Verified ClientHired Attorney 2012A co-worker of mine who had also recently gone through a divorce recommended Heidi Heinrich to me. He told me a little bit about her and her professionalism and ended with the caveat 'Just so you know she can be terrifying.' And he was right she can be an intimidating presence, but in divorce I think it helps to have someone like that in your corner. I will say ultimately with Heidi’s help I came out of my divorce very happy with the settlement and that is saying something since I am a man and the system in Texas notoriously favors the female in the divorce process. When I first met with Heidi and we talked through my case she gave me an estimate of what her services would cost me and in the end we actually came out a little bit under that original estimate. While researching attorneys in the beginning I read horror stories of how some attorneys will try to drag the process out and fight for the sake of fighting so that they ultimately profit more and you (the client) lose more. This was not my experience with Heidi at all. I was coming from a place of pain and betrayal and anger and wanted to get back at my ex any way I could. I’m betting this is common in divorce situations. But Heidi wisely tempered my anger by telling me what the law would allow and how best to negotiate with my ex-wife and her attorney. In the end we negotiated a settlement that was so much in my favor I think even Heidi was surprised. During a difficult and painful time Heidi was an ally who helped me navigate the complex legal process wisely and did so at a reasonable cost without trying to get as much money out of me as possible.

Verified ClientHired Attorney 2012I had a particularly complicated divorce, as I own a successful business and I was a father fighting for custody from an alcoholic mother. My ex had hired a prominent female attorney in Austin and they were denying all allegations of her alcohol abuse. I started with the cheapest lawyer I could find, and after six months had to excuse him from my case. I was referred to Heidi by another lawyer, and Heidi did not disappoint. Within a few weeks Heidi took the facts of the case and went on the offensive which eventually resulted in me getting full custody of my kids. Not only did I get the outcome I desired (and deserved), Heidi became more than my lawyer. She was my counselor, friend, and sanity check. She took my calls at odd hours, saw me at some very low points in my life, and in general not only helped me get to the finish line legally, but also emotionally. I was very pleased with the money I paid for the services I received. I would even suggest she should charge more for her services!
