Verified ClientHired Law firm 2021Being represent by Alfonzo Salazar was by far a breath of fresh air in my experience with the justice system. Mr. Salazar was assigned to me after my previous Lawyer retired he was able to give a great deal of knowledge on my case giving clear expectation. I was happy to get everything squared away after only two court dates. I would definitely recommend him to anyone in need of a good lawyer.

Verified ClientConsulted Law firm 2022An act of kindness means a lot when your in a complicated case and involuntary pro se seeking counsel. Michael Tucker reached out to me following a personal injury inquiry about a case that is not conducive to his practice. He could have not called back or called me to say he couldn’t help me and disconnect. He didn’t though. He listened, he answered what he could, the best he could, then said he was going to try to find me help and called me back with the name of an attorney that may be able to help me. I’m not a client but would be if I need an attorney in the areas of law he practices because he gave me the impression that he’s a good one.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
