Josh Culp was wonderful throughout my lengthy divorce process. From start to finish he was knowledgeable, direct and compassionate. He guided me through each step of gathering financials, child custody planning, preparing for mediation, discussing court options and working through every aspect of the divorce decree details. I highly recommend Josh and the Law Office of Lisa Richardson.

Josh not only proactively provided exceptional legal advice during the most stressful time in my life, but he also made himself readily available for my persistent calls and emails throughout the entire process. I’ll admit, I was a very needy and demanding client. My son is the most important person in my life, and Josh fought for him like he was family. I wouldn’t wish what I went through on any mother, but if you’re in the trenches and don’t know how to move forward, call Josh and trust your gut. He was consistently realistic, always upfront about the hard truths of the process and the legal system. He didn’t always tell me what I wanted to hear, but he told me what I needed to hear. Josh is a highly respected lawyer in the area and will fight for your case without needless aggression. My son’s future was forever shaped by Mr. Culp, and I will be eternally grateful.

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
