    Hired Law firm 2024-2025
9 MONTHS later and zero action from Coquat. Donโ€™t give them a penny to fight a traffic citation. This company has done absolutely nothing with my case AND i have a warrant issued because of their negligence. I wasted $200 for Coquat to fight my traffic citation. In 9 months the only corespondence I received from the company was to let me know they were closing early for the New Year. I came home from college when I was younger and told my father i was preparing to take the LSAT and I told him that I wanted to have a career as an attorney. My father has two degrees from Rice University. He stated โ€œSon, do you know what the first thing they do to students when they start law school? They drain every drop of blood from their bodies and fill their entire bodies with Chicken ๐Ÿ” Sฤง*ศ› ๐Ÿ’ฉโ€ This definitely applies to this law firmโ€™s attorneys. โœŒ๐Ÿผ๐ŸคŸ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธโœ๏ธ

Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level โ€“ Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials โ€“ How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost โ€“ How are the lawyer's fees structured โ€” hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City โ€“ Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
