    Hired Law firm 2020-2021
I hired this firm to represent me for a custody case. They told me that they could fight the case from beginning to end for about $20000, give or take. After spending $15000 I had to fire them and find other representation because we still had not progressed beyond the first step of the process. When your kids life is in the balance, you dont want con artists to represent you. And that is what this firm is, con artists who dont care about the case, just about collecting fees. I am glad that I have the means to hire another attorney and start over, but I hope nobody else gambles on this firm and loses. read the whole story - justindniedens dot blogspot dotcom

    Hired Law firm 2020-2021
This firm charged me for services it did not render and lied to me about it. They charged me $5K to write and submit a Motion to Reconsider to the court. They lied to me on multiple occassions stating that they had submitted it to the court. It was only when I had my other attorney, from a different firm, look into it, that I found that no such motion had been filed. Unless you have another attorney to fact check these guys, then dont hire them.

They will say what they need to say to get you to pay your retainer.... Once they have your money, your on your own. I hired these guys to do a child custody case, they knew full well from the very beginning that I didnt have any way to win, but they refused to tell me. If they told me, they knew that I wouldnt keep going, and if I didnt go forth with it, then they would have missed out on my money. If you are thinking of dealing with this firm, force them to tell you what they think your chances are in court. If they find a way of avoiding that question then you know your chances are low in their eyes. But they still want your money....

Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
