If you have a non-contested divorce, I suspect you could hire the majority of the attorneys in San Antonio and would be happy with their ability to file the proper paperwork necessary to end the marriage. Unfortunately what I have found is that if you have a contested divorce involving children, one with special needs that it is very difficult to find an attorney that has the skills and experience to address those very different needs properly. Before Lisa Vance, I had four attorneys that had the highest of ratings on the various attorney referral websites but their legal services were on the verge of being unethical and definitely were unsatisfactory, due to their inability to comply with the basic ethical standard of their duty to inform and defend their client's legal rights and options. My legal rights/needs not being addressed by my previous attorneys for just a few months had ramifications that I could have never dreamed of. I was finally given Lisa Vance's name because I begged someone in the legal profession for the name of an attorney that could not only stand up to my ex-husband's attorney but would think outside of the box in looking at what legal options I had available to address the best interests of my sons and I. Lisa is not a cookie-cutter attorney, she knows the law inside and out but that is not what's most impressive about her, it is her experience. The combination of her education and experience, along with her passion for justice, has allowed me to feel safe with an attorney for the first time, knowing that my sons and I rights will be protected. She looked at the unique needs of my situation and addressed them accordingly. She is the first attorney to do that and is the only way that my legal needs are finally being addressed.

I have nothing but accolades for the Law Office of Lisa Vance. From the moment I walked in to the welcoming and warm office, I felt at ease. Lisa and her staff are personable, empathetic and compassionate as well as highly professional and astute. My situation is extremely complicated and has become a team effort, which I have been so impressed by- truly, this team works well using each persons strengths. From Deborah’s kindness, gentleness and overall knowledge of the law and her background in social work and how it applies to my situation to Lisa’s confident persistence and strength in delivery, courtroom expertise and ability to gauge a situation in its entirety, the team is impressive. My overall impression of this firm has been that they are full of integrity, ethical but also personable and caring. The understanding and attitude of the entire staff, to include book keepers, office personal and especially paralegal Adan, has been such a blessing. I have had to navigate such unsavory behavior and ugliness throughout my divorce proceedings from the opposing counsel and her client. To be treated with such compassion and concern by the staff at this firm has been a godsend. Truly, I can’t imagine having had to navigate my situation without this amazing group of individuals. Ms. Lisa Vance and her staff will go beyond their company’s mission. Ms. Vance was genuinely empathetic to my situation and thoroughly addressed all my concerns and requests during my divorce case. Ms. Vance and her staff were readily available to me when I had any questions or concerns. Their support and guidance was very comforting at such a very sensitive and difficult time.

Overpriced, with NOTHING to show for it. I have been contacted by numerous prior clients with the same experience. She also doesn’t know the meaning of client/attorney privilege and will publically criticize your case (speaking of privileged minor confidential information) in rebuttal to bad reviews. I would run fast and far away from this firm.

From when you are greeted at the door, you are treated like family. That is what is needed when you are dealing with an issue that needs more than just a Law firm. My issue was resolved in mediation which saved me a lot of money than going to court. Lisa and her firm helped me in more ways than they know. I am grateful to them all.

The team at the Law Office of Lisa Vance helped me with a custody/child support matter. They made the process such a breeze and it was enlightening to know that I had such wonderful individuals working with me to answer my questions and ease my concerns. I was represented by Byrd Bonner with the Lisa Vance Law Firm for a difficult child custody case. Mr. Bonner and his Team are amazing. He listened to my concerns, cared about my family and was understanding and compassionate during an extremely emotional time. He was able to see what was truly in the best interest of the child and get the outcome that we were hoping for. I highly recommend the Lisa Vance Law Firm and Byrd Bonner.

This office is by far the worst I've ever experienced. The consultation is $250 with an attorney who is retired. The entire consultation she stated my husband had a great case and most definitely could go for full custody and if not 50/50. We hired the office which required a $10,000 retainer only for them to sit on the case and drain the retainer for three months prior to even file for the case to be transferred to Bexar County. Once it was filed, we were instructed we would need to hire another attorney in a different county on top of keeping them and would require and additional $3,500 to keep them on if it were transferred here. His contract stated he was to receive bimonthly statements which he did not. Upon receiving all of them towards the end before we withdrew their office, the retainer was spent on correspondence between the paralegal and the attorney (no idea on what) multiple times for hours upon hours, the paralegal to review my husband's statement, the attorney to review his statement, the attorney to make adjustments, the paralegal to review again, the paralegal emailing for three months with no movement. They completely left my husband in the dark of the process what exactly was needed or what the next steps were and the actions to be taken. DO NOT HIRE THIS OFFICE! And to do this to a service member is a shame.

Biggest waste of time and money. After paying a ridiculous $250 consultation fee. I spoke with what I would describe as one of the most incompetent lawyers that I have ever encountered. My ex spouse is trying to extort money out of me for reasons not related to child support. After giving her the solution, telling her my child's mother was in contempt of court, refusing to send my child to me. Her response was basically "she has that right." I don't know if Kay Martinez is just stuck in the 1980's and believes that a mother will always get what she wants and the fathers have no rights or if she just hates the idea of fighting for a father's rights. Save your money and find someone else.

She already knows my opinion. But just so everyone else can see.....STAT AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Wouldn't even recommend to my enemy
