Jacqui and her team were amazing. They took on our case and were willing to fight for us, with us and continued to encourage us along the way. They are very thoughtful and take on each case as if you are family. We recommend them to anyone that needs help, thinks there is no one that will care, or just needs a friend. They do, they care, and they are your friends. Speaking from a dad desperate to help his children, knowing that it is not the norm to be awarded primary, they consistently motivated and educated me on my case. In the end, we won! True team work and team players. You matter, your case matters and the results matter. Thank you forever, for what you did for me and my family.

Ms Jacqueline is an excellent attorney! I was totally blessed to have her and her team to work on my custody case. She took my case on a very short notice and i am very grateful for that. Jacqui truly cares about her clients and it shows when it comes time to represent in the court room. I will definitely be recommending her and the McNutt law firm to all my friends and family!

Worst family attorney in Texas. I retain McNutt as my attorney in October of 2021. McNutt move my case out Texas child support court and into Hays County Family Court. After paying McNutt Law Firm nearly 3000 dollars she then requested a motion to withdraw from my case on day 7 o March of 2022. She withdrew from supposedly for bad client and attorney relations. Basically she took my money and left me to defend myself with no specific reason at all. I got proof of everything I am writing. My advice to anyone is to not retain McNutt as your attorney in family court if you want a good outcome in your case. She may do some good work for some of her clients but not for all and my case proves that beyond reasonable doubt. I am a real person and I have proof to show that this is a bad law firm, especially if you value your money and expect a good outcome. Don’t end up like me. You might find yourself in the same situation if you retain Jacqueline R. McNutt as your attorney. I can prove my claim, reach out to me if you want to know more.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
