Overview

Penniann J. Schumann has practiced in the areas of Wills, Trusts (revocable, irrevocable for children and charities, special needs, etc.), Powers of Attorney, Advanced Health Care Directives, Trust Administration, Estate Administration, and Elder Law which includes Guardianship and Conservatorships for over 25 years. In 2006, Ms. Schumann left the private practice of law to work in a national bank and administer their trusts for the state of Utah and Idaho. In this position she was able to get a clear perspective on how trustees interpret trust language and how and why banks as trustees use their discretion. In 2008, Ms. Schumann returned to the private practice of law, where she remains today. Having worked at a bank as the administrator of the trusts for which the bank as named a trustee, she gained a unique perspective which has facilitated her drafting trust language in her estate planning, assisted her with representing clients in trust administration, etc.
