I retained Mr. Patrick N. Anderson from late 2021 to early 2022. Frankly working with him was difficult. He wrongly billed me and displayed inconsistent professional behavior. He was sending all my private (paper) legal documents, pleadings, responses, etc to an old billing address of mine in Virginia. His firm knew my correct address. I believe he violated the rules governing confidentiality of information. He stated my initial retainer would include a background check/PI investigation of the plaintiff. That never happened. He also displayed no ability nor interest to investigate plaintiff through her social media posts. He told me he wins most of his cases when the facts show the majority of his cases result in a plea bargain, a guilty plea. I requested a copy of discovery multiple times and finally received those documents from Mr. Anderson 8 months after my indictment. I had to constantly request even simple legal documents from Mr. Anderson which were delivered months later. He consistently didn’t reply to my detailed emails and questions and when he did it was often with a “be patient” short note. He never seemed to understand where we were in my case though he verbally guaranteed he would handle it, as I insisted when I hired him. He seems to have done little work even to the preliminary hearing. When I terminated his services he sent me an initial invoice with hours and no dates. At my insistence he later sent another invoice with hours and dates that didn’t appear to reconcile. He consistently told me “we worked real hard on your case” even though they only represented me through the preliminary hearings. He billed me for 63 hours of which 17 hours was travel time (nearly a third of the fees). He claims to have traveled to court 8 times. When asked about this he couldn’t account for it and Jessica Richardson (his associate) met with other clients during the three times I appeared in court. When I asked if he billed those clients also he said he would have to check and confirmed he wrongly billed me. I would never engage him or his firm again.

Fantastic law office, Jessica thoroughly understands the law and it really paid off being her client in the end. There was no jail time, and this was a big drug case. Jessica is profoundly talented in her profession, and Patrick also made an extraordinary presentation at court. Jessica let us know what to do months in advance when preparing and improving our chances of success, and did the majority of the work on this case. We could not be more happy, and in particular if you have a larger case go with this law firm.(I am sure smaller cases are a walk in the park for them too) They do not have mostly DUI cases like half other firms in this distrct. We only worked with Jessica and Patrick throughout this process.(who were very upfront yet empathetic as well) However, I also witnessed another lawyer on their firm at sentencing mediate a client down to 3 months..
