Verified ClientHired Law firm 2019-2023Really appreciate and loved working with both Tracy and Alan. They were direct, clear, honest and upfront about the expectations and options throughout the process. Regardless of my decisions they worked hard for my requests. They never charged for the smallest minute things nor did they "Nickle and dime" me as they could have as other law firms do. It was always fair and considerate. My outcome was not unexpected with the current legal system in custody battle. Despite the issues it is normal still to always side with the mom no matter her attitude, capability, mental health and actions. My outcome was better then the normal cookie cutter and not in favor of removing custody to the bare minimum and all that can be attributed to Tracy and Alan. I had a 4 year battle with a vindictive, petty spouse with undiagnosed BPD and Tracy was very articulate in her approach and constant responses to the other party's constant defamation and accusations. Thank you again. I would certainly highly recommend Tracy and Alan.

Verified ClientHired Law firm 2021-2022I found Alan Bowden through google after lots of research looking for a divorce lawyer and from just a few of the reviews I read I decided to give him a call. The best thing I could’ve done. He did not disappoint. Alan was the first lawyer I spoke to (and I spoke to many), to actually take the time to look at the paperwork I already had and if it wasn’t for him I would’ve lost the little left my husband was trying to take from me. He always responded quickly and was the advocate I needed during my divorce. Alan cares about his clients and he will fight for you, he sure did for me. I highly recommend him!!

Verified ClientHired Law firm 2019-2020My divorce was a complete mess that perpetuated over quite a long time- it was exhausting and expensive. Then, I met Tracy Meyer, we clicked immediately and everything changed for the BEST! She is excellent! Tracy listened to me, understood all of the BS that I was dealing with and organized my case easily. On top of that, she is honest, professional and communicative; Her no-nonsense, intelligent and strong demeanor propelled my divorce forward, even through the pandemic. Tracy's knowledge of divorce law and her ability to apply it to my case was nothing less than brilliant. Ultimately, my Property Settlement Agreement (PSA) included everything I needed and wanted for myself and my children with the protection of law. With absolute certainty, I highly recommend Meyer & Bowden.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
