Overview

John S. Stocks graduated magna cum laude from University of Washington in 1988 and earned his law degree from Seattle University in 1991, where he was on the law review. Thereafter admitted in November, 1991, Mr. Stocks began practicing law at the age of 25 in 1991. He has practiced in Auburn for 10+ years, including employment law, family law, criminal defense, litgation, trials, personal injury and civil rights litigation. He and his partner obtained a $3 million dollar verdict (July, 2001) stemming from the wrongdoing of law enforcement in the Wenatchee Sex Rings cases starting in 1995-1996. Mr. Stocks has argued in front of the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals, and was the primary attorney who briefed and argued the landmark case of Rodriguez v. Perez , 99 Wn. App. 439, 994, P.2d 874 (2000), which was the first case permitting negligence claims against officers for improper investigations of child abuse or neglect.
