Hired Attorney Andrew W. Heinz 2021
My experience with Andrew Heinz was quite unbelievable. You trust a lawyer to walk you through a will drafting, trusting they'll ask question relevent to your situation etc. In my case, I forget which additional form he recommended, however he did recommend this form. We went back home and a question came to mind regarding this additional form he recommended and after my question he says not to use it. Basically, he brings up the situation during our session that includes this form and then he recommends not using it. So we all move on, the will is drafted and signed. His office then begins billing me for this form that he suggested and then suggest not using it. I'm thinking they've made some type of mistake until they start threatening suing me and putting it on my credit report. What a guy! Anyway, we felt burned by this guy for an additional $300 he charged us for a form we didn't use. Remeber, he suggested it and then suggested not using it. What a set up and rip off. And you wonder why lawyers have bad reputaions. I hope he feels good about ripping of lay people with his bully pulpit. We just recently say with another lawyer recently to help my mother, I explained the situation with Andrew Hienze and she was sorry experienced this with a lawyer. Good luck out there Andrew.

Hired Attorney Aaron M. Rasmussen 2011-2012
Aaron Rasmussen concealed the misconduct of his former partner Jeremy Benson. Misconduct that would eventually get Jeremy Benson SUSPENDED from practicing law in the state of WA. Jeremy Benson had gotten into trouble at a time when he had a partnership with Aaron called "Benson and Rasmussen" operating in Spokane WA. When Benson dropped off the face of the earth to avoid the trouble he was in, Aaron took over my case, Aaron telling me that Benson had become very ill. So this is plainly lying. Nor did Aaron declare his relationship to the prosecutor handling my case, Tim Rasmussen. Aarons Uncle. This represents a conflict of interest for the client. Long story short, he didnt lift a finger to defend me in a case where i was clearly innocent. This man will take your money, Deceive you , and NOT put any effort in bringing truth to the table.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
