Attorney Bottimore represented me for my Establishment of Parenting Plan. I appreciate her knowledge, compassion, and excellent communication skills. Attorney Bottimore gave me the strength to rise above and reach effective co-parenting. Bottimore & Associates proved to me there is lightness on the other side of darkness. I know firsthand Attorney Bottimore is a great Family Law Attorney. Her intelligence, patience, and compassion shows. She does not put up with non-sense or Attorneys over litigating. She will fight for what is best for your family in the most cost-effective way. I highly recommend Bottimore & Associates. Family and Resolution is the focus.

We worked with Bottimore & Associates a couple times in the past. We were always very happy with the services they provided. They helped us with our Annual Corporate Minutes. As well they took over the Tri-annual reporting to the Court for our Son JMR guardianship for about 9 years while we lived in Washington and transitioned to California. Leslie explained to me California was a completely different situation from Washington and we could not just transfer. So it took us several years to figure out what was required in California for a Conservatorship for our son. Leslie keep the Guardianship open in Washington even though we no longer lived there and kept going to see the Tacoma Judge and representing us. Once we obtained the California Conservatorship the California judge asked that we close out Washington. The experience was a very good one dealing with Bottimore & Associates and I would highly recommend them. Even the long distance we experienced when we move did not really make a difference. They were great to work with. Tacoma and Rancho Mirage California.

Leslie is very courteous and professional in helping me with marital advice. Not only she offers me advice, but she also recommended me some options on what areas she can assist me with. Thank you Leslie

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
