Hired Law firm 2023Narcissistic, untrustworthy, unprofessional and should not be practicing law. My initial consultation was $100 and he was 45 min late for a 10 min phone conversation. After I paid $5500, my next consultation was canceled. My next phone conversation he was short, condescending and in a hurry to get off the phone. Almost 2 months after hiring him I still had not met him face to face, I only had 20 minutes of phone conversation. I was led to believe that I had a strong case of being granted 50/50 custody of my 14 yr old son. Finally comes my day in court, I am sitting on the bench outside the courtroom, I get a voicemail so garbled I cannot understand any of it. Later I get a phone call telling me court is canceled. Wasted day, costed me a vacation day. I called to complain, I was told their phones were having problems that day. Next court date comes 7 weeks after I hired George Hansen for $5500 and I meet him face to face. More disappointment, he comes into the courtroom totally unprepared. He does not even know who I am, reviews my case 20 minutes before facing the judge. My ex wife's lawyer is spot on and there to represent her client. George Hansen was a total embarrassment, incompetent, out classed so called attorney. The end result is, in addition to facing a large increase in my monthly child support with no change to my current parenting plan, I hired George Hansen for $5500 and now owe my ex wife's attorney fees of $3000. I was told by George Hansen his retainer fee of $5500 is used up, I now will be paying him his hourly rate plus an hourly rate for his staff. This whole nightmare so far has cost me more than $8500 and I have nothing to show for it. BIG MISTAKE HIRING GEORGE HANSEN.!!!!!!!

Hired Law firm 2023Unprepared. Didn’t know the case at all. So couldn’t even speak up for us because he had no idea where he even was. Absolutely waste of money. Do not hire him.

Hired Law firm 2022This law firm is Dishonest & not trustworthy. George Hansen took my $5500 retainer and produced no filed paperwork. I had provided the statement needed to begin case but he couldnt cut & paste a simple statement or have personal rewrite he started playingback in forth contact games to rack of costs mailing letters. He blaimed nothing being done on lack of staff & he couldnt find emails or paperwork in his personal mail box. I fired him a week & half after nothing was filed and no paperwork in my time sensitive case. He has NOW kept my money Over 4 months & Provided no billing OR COSTS. He stated in termination mailed letter he did 2 hours of work on oddsey looking over my case and I would be refunded. He also threatened me to never come in his office again or he would file harassment charge against me in this letter? He kept my retainer for 4 months now racking up interest interest costs on my CC payment and lied about hours performed to my CC company when I contested the fraudulent charge. Then last week George pulled some shady dishonest sh*t & sent my current Lawyer half My retainer back with a check instead of refunding my CC. He did this to creat more cost and debt on my behalf with no billing attached. I have not excepted his half price check offer. George refuses to give me any billing statement his office staff is rude and hangs up if I call asking for any information statement billing. I am now forced to contact the Board report him and file a civil suit against George Hansen to get my retainer refunded. I do not recommend George Hansen he dishonest and takes advantage of good people to pad his pockets.

Hired Law firm 2021I really appreciate the legal work that was done for me. The way documents were worded in professional legal content. There were avenues that I did not know existed that were manuevered into, such as a judge being related to the other party. I did not know I had rights that went beyond what I knew. I waas happy with my representation. Happy to have an attorney to help walk me through the process. To try to save money I almost went ahead and was going to try to represent myself. I'm glad I hired Hansen Law because the other party and court system would've ran all over me in Tribal court. My experience was worth every penny.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
