Attorney Hannah Smet is representing me during my divorce. A divorce that is proving to be very contentious. During our consultation, I realized that Hannah was a great communicator. During the entire session, I watched her practice the greater part of communication...she listened. She listened in order to understand. She then explained the process, what I could expect, what was expected. She did this with clarity, brevity and a level of compassion that I did not think existed within the legal community. During the first divorce hearing, Hannah was assertive, not aggressive. She became my voice, and that voice was assertive, cooperative, and respectful of everyone in attendance. During that hearing, it became clear to me that anyone who underestimated Hannah’s quiet, unassuming manner would do so at their own peril. She has returned every phone call, answered every text, and replied to every email. Hannah is intelligent, knowledgeable, personable and a great communicator. However, the trait that made her stand out was her innate ability to put herself in my shoes and see things from my perspective. Thus far, this ability has enabled us to achieve a level of understanding that I believe will lead to solutions.
