Hired Attorney 2021-2022Anthony menting and the law firm are horrendous on every level. He is an unethical, unqualified, unprofessional and habitual liar. He will take a retainer and do absolute zero work in return. He will also wait until just a few hours before your court appearance to ask about the details of your case even though you provided many documents for him to review before said hearing. But that's not how he operates at all. He's a fraudster and a liar and a cheat and a thief and one of the worst individuals you will ever meet. Stay away from this law firm and most certainly stay away from that abomination of a supposed human being.

Hired Attorney 2022I was referred to Tony because of jurisdictional complexities and the potential for high conflict in my divorce case. Tony’s skill and experience ensured quick resolution with an excellent financial outcome. I live in North Central Wisconsin and apart from one hearing, everything was handled remotely.

Hired Attorney 2018-2021I found Attorney Anthony Menting to be knowledgeable about the laws and court cases relating to divorce and family law. He is very much an advocate for his client getting their fair share from the divorce. He is also a strong proponent of a clean break with no future fighting or squabbles. I have recommended him to others going through a difficult divorce.

Hired Attorney 2019-2020Very expensive, poorly written document with many loopholes. Even the judge said he was surprised at how poorly written it was. Was subsequently treated with disrespect when I informed Tony's office I was seeking new counsel. Would not recommend.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
