Hired Law firm 2015-2018If I could give less then one star I would!! I hired Eric Haag to represent my family after my daughter who was just 16 became disabled while in the STATES custody. He was dishonest from the start didn’t keep us in the loop about anything secretly did everything behind our backs made negotiations without telling us what was going on and the list goes on!! But the topper was now my disabled daughter is back in the states custody because Eric got a state appointed guardian!! Meanwhile he gets awards for doing such a great job?? He doesn’t care about what happens to his clients I think it’s a complete joke that it states that he is caring and concerned when we know first hand that he most definitely does not he should have recommended her sisters be her guardian rather then put her back into the very hands that caused this to happen so it makes one wonder... is it because if she stays in the states hands they will get their money back while my daughter suffers daily? Don’t hire him because it says he won the largest civil lawsuit because he won it by tearing a family apart!! I would NEVER recommend this attorney or firm to even my worst enemy

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
