Customer Reviews for Jansson Munger McKinley & Kirby Ltd.

Consulted Law firm 2026Peter Jansson quoted me that the job we needed would be "a couple of hours." Then he proceeded onward. We had gone to church with this man at one time and it was on that basis that we hired him believing him to be a "Christian." Yet, he went on for 2 days waffling about how to proceed, calling me constantly to talk to me about the lease I asked him to review. Then, he told me the bill was $1400. I agreed to pay. He then called back and said he forgot a whole days work and had his secretary call to get my credit card. I had sarcastically said I would pay him, but after giving her the card I ordered her not to run the card without me seeing the time sheets and speaking to Peter. Today I went on my bank site to look at something and see that they charged us almost $3000.00 when I agreed to $1400.00 and Peter refuses to give me the time sheets. I feel in my opinion Peter took money from our account I told his secretary not to and frankly don't know how they were able to take it as I did not give them the CVS code. Very very very disappointed in this supposed "man of god" more greed and an aweful lot of waffling about how to argue the case than anything, in my opinion.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
