Hired Law firm 2023Kerri was absolutely stellar, and we couldn't be more happy with the incredible representation provided. From the beginning Kerri was on point, always confident and clearly knows what she is doing and how to get the job done with my son's best interest always at the forefront of her actions. She is truly a shining star in a sea of darkness and despair. All phone calls and emails, as well as texts were answered in a timely manner. Her professionalism and kindness are second to none!

Hired Law firm 2022-2023I hired Dr. Cleghorn to handle my case. She was very professional and represented me well. I am happy with how she handled my case as I could tell she was a well practiced lawyer. Great person, even better lawyer! I will definitely call her again to represent me in the future and will recommend her.

Hired Law firm 2023Stole funds and did nothing on my case , never even returns calls.

Hired Law firm 2023The worst possible choice you could make is hiring this ambulance chasing lawyer. Prior reprimands and still ripping clients off. I currently have her under investigation for horrible representation and stealing my retainer. She is worse than going with a jailhouse lawyer or first year public defender. Do your due diligence before hiring, did absolutely nothing and then billed me for doing nothing other then driving to and from her office at $300 per hour, plus billed me for the gas.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
