My experience with Teri Nelson left me deeply disappointed. Initially, she seemed to care about my case, and I trusted her during an overwhelming time when my priority was protecting my children. I understand that a lengthy, high-conflict family case involves disagreements between attorneys. However, I felt that the conflict between counsel overshadowed my children’s needs and the priorities of my case. Communication became adversarial, and I often felt dismissed by the person I was paying to advocate for us. After the orders were finalized, I learned that they contained changes benefiting the opposing party that had not been identified or explained to me before finalization. Those overlooked changes have had significant consequences for my family over the following four years. I was also making payments under what I understood to be our agreed payment plan, within my limited financial means. When she pursued withholding money from my paychecks to obtain larger monthly payments, I felt blindsided despite my continued efforts to honor that arrangement. For a long time, I assumed this was simply what difficult litigation looked like. Working with a different attorney changed that perspective. Within two days of working with him, my new attorney was able to address much of the damage and secure important protective orders. I had spent more than five years seeking those protections, including two years of contentious litigation with Teri. I needed careful attention to the orders, respectful communication, and consistent advocacy focused on my children’s safety. I do not feel I received that, and based on my experience, I would not recommend Teri Nelson.

I used Terri for my Divorce in 2009 and recommended her to 2 other people who were very happy with her representation. Recently, years after my divorce, I was in a position to fight for something I was awarded and immediately went back to Terri. As an attorney, she is knowledgeable, dependable, responsive, straightforward, and firm. She has a highly regarded reputation amongst other attorneys and the court system Judges/Commissioners. I particularly found her integrity very admirable, even when I was not feeling like I wanted to be fair.....she provided explanations and solutions that quickly eased my mind. She is also encouraging on a personal level. She just keeps it real and has during the 10+ years I have had her representing me. Shout out to Shelley in the office as well! They are a great team and worth every penny!

Terri Nelson, is a great attorney. She listened to me. I was extremely emotion and she was honest and to the facts for me. I needed this. She stood by me and gave me the explanation if I did choice a or choice b. She is a skilled lawyer in court. She helped my divorce to be fair to me and has helped me with additional information even after the settlement when issues arose. I would recommend her to my family and friends. In divorces you need someone looking out for you and i believe she is the one you want on your side.

I was referred to Teri Nelson for my divorce by a very good friend of mine who had Teri as her apposing attorney for her divorce. All she had to say to me was “I wish I had her as my attorney!!” My friend was right! From the moment I walked into Teri’s office, I knew I was in great hands!
