Hired Attorney 2019-2020where do I begin? First I can only give 5 stars. If I could, I would have given him more. I had a beef with a large automobile dealership in Jacksonville. After 9 months of dealing with the dealership, being lied to, treated as though I didn't matter (and all the time the dealership had possession of my vehicle), I started to search for a lawyer that would take my case and advise me of my legal rights. J. Eric Jones of The Jones Law Firm came very highly recommended from 3 of the largest law firms in Jacksonville.they did not handle this type of litigation). After one call to Eric I explained my problem and he suggested that we meet in his office and for me to bring any documents with me. He told me to check out his credentials and track record and standing with the Fl Bar prior to our meeting. I met with Eric 2 days later and he agreed to take my case. If you have ever watched TV and saw someone file a case, then you know the first thing the opposing council does is try to "discredit" you. They called me a liar, etc... It was disheartening to say the least but Eric advised me to let him handle it. So I did. It took a few months to settle the case, with alot of back and forth, but Eric handled it all. He updated me daily with copies of every email from opposing counsel and we talked several times a week on the phone. He eventually settled my case without us having to go to court and settled for MORE than I originally asked for and recovered my attorneys fees on top of it. Eric was always very professional and never made false promises. He kept me up to date throughout the entire process. Updated me and explained the legalities and his strategy the whole way. I am very pleased that Eric was so highly recommended to me . I reached out to each of the law firms that recommended him and told them how pleased I was and told them to keep recommending him. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND J. Eric Jones, Esq. Law Firm. He WILL fight for you and your rights. Thank you for reading this review, I only hope that I did him the respect that he deserves. .P.S. On top of all that, Eric had them tow my disabled car to my home at no cost to me and I sold the car the next day with "full disclosure" to a mechanic that had the car running within 1-1/2 hours, gave me cash and drove it home. (I thought I was going to sell it was parts but as it turned out it only took a mechanic that knew what he was doing after 17 months of the dealership telling me they could not get the part to fix it) So that was another source of money that I did not plan on. I guess it's true what the say, "Good things happen to those who wait".

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
