Hired Attorney Joel M. Cohen 2023-2024Great Attorney, Great Experience, Great Results. I had a very unique situation, my case required a knowledgeable, and very experienced Attorney in order for justice to be served in my favor. I consulted with a few attorneys who were all reluctant to take my case. I continued to search the web and I came across Mr. Cohen’s Law Firm website. I read the description of the legal services that he provides, also the details of his experience. I decided to call Mr. Cohen, I then explained my situation emailed him the details and waited for his response after his review of the documents. Mr. Cohen responded very promptly and he advised me that it may be an uphill push, but that all the possible outcomes are more in my favor. He explained all of the pros & cons in all honesty. That way I was able to make a conscious decision on how to proceed. Mr. Cohen reassured me that he was fully capable and prepared to meet any of the legal challenges with his knowledge and experience. He was very confident, and prepared. Which in turn settled my concerns that I would never receive justice in the matter. Hiring Mr. Cohen was the light at the end of a long journey. Mr. Cohen is very professional, responsive to all questions, very transparent, honest, and definitely puts the interests of his clients as top priority. I will recommend Mr. Cohen as a 5 star Attorney, and I will refer Mr. Cohen, and I will continue to hire Mr. Cohen for any legalities I may have in business, real estate purchases or sells etc. Great Person, Great Attorney!!! I truly thank you Mr. Cohen for your assistance. Thanks again.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
