My experience with Ms. Stuart during my recent divorce was fantastic! Of course divorce is a time of stress and uncertainty, but at our first meeting a lot of those feelings disappeared because immediately after walking into her office I knew I had made the right decision. Ms. Stuart is a great listener, knows the right questions to ask, her experience really shines through in the fact that I left the first consultation with a plan and with hope. I anticipated getting my 2 boys every other weekend as that seems the norm but thanks to Ms. Stuart I have them every weekend!!!

I hired Cortney Stuart law to represent me in two active civil cases in Cherokee County. And one civil case in Lee County, Florida. Courtney Stuart requires a payment to review a case. This payment allows a meeting with Courtney, including an interview enabling her to accept or deny the civil actions. After my paid review, Courtney accepted all three cases and would start as soon as she received thousands in requested retainer fees. I paid the fees that day and believed Ms. Stuart's promise to work hard defending my cases. At a $300 an hour rate, Ms. Stuart billed fees against the retainer to review the documents and hearings that have already occurred in these civil actions. The first case is a civil action to defend an active divorce filed by my wife in Cherokee County. Plaintiff is currently serving a ten-year felony conviction for domestic family abuse. The abuse victims are my 14-year-old son and me. On Marger Stuart law, it's stated the attorney Stuart is a "bulldog in court." From my experience, she was only a "bulldog" towards me as the customer. Ms. Stuart was handled and directed easily by the opposing counsel. She offered little pushback and accepted all excuses and ridiculous requests. She allowed the opposing council to cancel mediation and no-show hearings and refuse to return interrogatories. Courtney Stuart accepted all excuses, regardless of the reason. Ms. Stuart billed hours of my prepaid retainer for time to communicate with me. As her client, I expected to pay for Ms. Stuart's time. She seemed offended when I questioned these excuses and my desire to proceed with scheduled hearings. The night before the most recent hearing, the opposing attorney attempted to have the hearing rescheduled or dismissed. He told Courtney, "I am on leave but forgot to add this case to my request." Ms. Stuart accepted this excuse and then asked me to agree to cancel the next morning's scheduled contempt of court hearing. In my response, I asked, "how can we validate this leave request ?" In my opinion, this was just another attempt to delay the proceedings. Ms. Stuart stated that "I" would need to call the Cherokee County Clerk of Court's office if "I" wanted to validate this leave request. Ms. Stuart and her office did not attempt to validate this or any opposition claims. I was forced to call Cherokee County Clerk's Office from my cruise ship at sea in the North Pacific Ocean. The claim was another false attempt to delay proceedings. I verified that no leave had been filed. Another lie, accepted. In my second case, Courtney charged $1000 to review a child support proceedings originally in Cherokee County and then refiled in Lee County Flordia. A recent life-threatening disease diagnosis has decreased my health and has put me on long-term disability. So I emailed Courtney requesting her to file a simple motion for a reduction in monthly support. My disability pay is now 60% of my salary. Online it's a one-page motion. Courtney advertises practicing law in Florida. But when I requested Courtney to go ahead and file the action, she responded that I would need to hire a Florida attorney. I obviously would not have paid a $1000 retainer to an attorney for a state they are uncomfortable practicing. County did not attend any of my hearings. She always had an excuse stating conflicting hearings. But instead, she uses a bait and switch tactic! Replacing her presence with a fill-in from her office —an attorney whom I have not met and did not hire. Courtney treats questions as insults, and my written complaints to Courtney were not addressed. Instead, Courtney files a motion to withdraw from all the civil cases. I hope this review prevents other potential clients from making the same mistake. Courtney's withdrawal from the cases constitutes a full refund of all fees. As of today, I have not received any restitution.
