Verified ClientHired Law firm 2020I recently had Ed Shaw represent me in a legal dispute. He was very articulate and straight to the point. I did a lot of research on the internet and spoke to quite a few people about my problem before contacting Ed, but he greatly expanded on what I had learned prior to contacting him. He definitely provided me with no nonsense legal advice.

Hired Law firm 2024-2025Unfortunately our experience was not pleasant. We hired for a service that was not delivered. After many months of delay. there decision of no service they did come to an agreement of sending half of the monies. Unfortunately Mr Shaw assistant after many attempts of trying to see we're our check was, because we weren't allowed to just pick it up. Almost a month and still no check. My experience with the assistant is very unpleasant, it doesn't take almost a month for the US mail to deliver. And yet she doesn't attempt to check with accounting if yes it's lost, or maybe let's just cut another check after all this time. Instead she send a ride email stating we were informed by there office it was mailed. End of topic! So how professional?? Would you consider this firm if any unforseen issues to arrive and so called refund was to be handled! So far nothing!! And I mean nothing has been done on there side. You decide if you want this kind of service!

Hired Law firm 2024-2025I contacted and hired Ed Shaw after my previous lawyer had failed to work my case. He answered all my questions, responded quickly and kept me informed at all times. We were able to use an option I was unaware of and achieve a very satisfactory result to end my case. I would highly recommend him . Very knowledgeable lawyer.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
