Hired Law firm 2023-2026My experience with Higgins Law was INCREDIBLE. Matt and his team represented me for 2.5 years during a very challenging custody/divorce case that finalized in 2023 and most recently in a modification case in 2025. Every team member (Tara, Courtney, Amber, and Renee) was amazing. So efficient and skillful in their positions. But most of all I want to recognize and thank Matt Higgins. I am so grateful for his steadfast determination. I had the most positive experience working with Matt. He has a brilliant mind and IS THE EXPERT in his profession. From the first consultation appointment, ongoing correspondences, and every meeting after, Matt was professional, committed, and ambitious. He represents EXCELLENCE. Matt listened to my perspective and my goals for my family. He showed great care and the upmost diligence in all aspects of my case. During the case I felt confident and hopeful that he would represent the truth and fight for what was inherently right. He did so and exceeded my expectations. Matt and his team’s tireless efforts made every difference in my family’s life. Thank you, Matt, and thank you to your amazing team!

Hired Law firm 2017-2025I hired higgins law for the first time in 2017. That was the best choice I ever made. I have hired him many times after that. Higgins law has always got me everything I asked for. The entire staff is awesome I would never hire any else. In my opinion they are the best in the business. Thank you Higgins lay.

Hired Law firm 2019-2021I paid Matt Higgins $60k for worst case scenario as the final result in my case. He’s a snake oil salesman. He’s great at making you think he believes in your case and cares about you, whilst dragging it out as long as possible and draining you of every dime he can. He gives immoral and harmful advice and once you finally figured him out and fire him, he’ll try to sue you as well. Ask any attorney around about him. They’ll tell you the same thing. Don’t get duped by his charm!

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
