Overview

Prior to working at Higgins Law, Liam was a Partner at Wagner Meehan LLP. In his over decade of practice, he has been lead counsel for over 80 contested full day bench trials in family law matters including paternity, child custody, modifications, and complex divorce proceedings. He was an author for the Family Law Practice Manual published by the Nebraska State Bar Association.

Liam also represents citizens facing criminal prosecution and has successfully defended clients in both bench and jury trials. Criminal representation has included a range of offenses from first time driving under influence charges to more serious felonies including accessory to murder, firearm charges, and sexual assaults.

Liam has successfully represented clients in both family and criminal law in front of the Nebraska Appellate Courts.

He has presented at continuing legal education seminars on both bridge orders and tort liability for DHHS employees. He was the first attorney in the State to have a bridge order approved.

Liam played on Greater Omaha Touring Side Rugby Football Club for 4 years and served as President of the club from 2015-2017. He also coached mock trial at Duschesne Academy for three seasons. He is an elected member for the Nebraska Bar Association House of Delegates and a graduate of the Nebraska Bar Association Leadership Academy.
