Verified ClientHired Law firm 2020-2021Child custody and divorce is such an emotional time. So, please believe me when I say that David and his entire staff are who you want if ever you find yourself in the fight of your life. When you are fighting for your children you need a team that knows what they are doing. You need a lawyer who will tell you what you need to know. Not one who will tell you what you want to hear. David is a honest person with integrity and he has a moral compass. The office staff were professional and always communicated information effectively and in a timely manner. One young lady named Taylor, I can not tell you how much she helped when tempers anxiety and frustrations were ruling the day. She would always listen and take time to explain. And sometimes she’d say, you are absolutely right this is crazy. She probably had 100 other things she needed to be doing. But, she always took the time to listen and help.

Verified ClientHired Law firm 2020David and his staff provided me with timely, professional, and courteous support on my deceased father's estate. I live in North Carolina and was very fortunate to find David and Dena's support. Their fees were quite reasonable and I will call them if I need another lawyer in Oklahoma.

Verified ClientHired Law firm 2019Hired David Ratcliff to handle probate for my mother's estate in Grady County. Everything went well, communication was good, fees were reasonable. I am out of state and appreciated that everything was handled by the law firm and I was not required to travel back to Oklahoma for the proceedings.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
