Hired Law firm 2024-2025Being desperate and in need of an attorney who would represent myself & my husband we went to Catterlin & Arnold attys @ law. In the preliminary consultation he told us he was going for a.stand your ground defense, so we were hopeful that we would have our day in court and that we have someone on our side. However as soon as we made a mistake on a check written out and they said they could not use the check to deposit and then they threatened to fire us. So, I sent some research done about lawyers firing clients and they didn't like that. We also corrected the mistake immediately but Kori was very disrespectful when we came to the office to pay cash and accused us of being loud when we were speaking at normal volumes. May times we would drive there after a long day of working outside in the heat to pay our payment arrangement and they would be closed. When the hours are clearly marked on the door. Trying to meet with or discuss the case is impossible because he continually used the excuse, closer to the trial date.. 10 days before the trial date.i.reached out to him about meeting and he said he was going to call that day because the judge wanted us in court the next day. When I asked what was happening, he answered legal arguments. No kidding! 5 days before trial date and he is not getting any charges dropped, no lessening of charges, none of the witnesses we had given him were called and interviewed, and he didn't even read over any of the discovery with us, because he did absolutely no work on our cases. He split the cases but did not treat us separately. When speaking to both of us he clearly stated to my husband that it was not his consultation at that time. He gave us 2 days to make a decision on a plea that was so short notice we really could not make an informed decision due to so much fear. When I look back I wish I had fired him in court that day, in front of the judge and started fresh with a new law firm. They did not do their job, they did not go above & beyond and I believe he knew the whole time he was going to steal our money as soon as we paid $10,000.

Hired Law firm 2024-2025We went to them desperate & needing help to navigate the court system. Ben Catterlin took our case together stating to us that we had a good stand your ground defense and we paid him $10,000. We expected him to rise to the bar maybe even go above & beyond. However, there was a problem about a payment my husband made to the office and they threatened us with firing us as clients because the check was filled out wrong which we immediately rectified but the way they acted like they could let us go so easily, like we were expendable. When i texted him about a court proceeding he texted me back saying it was a legal argument with no other explanation and i felt totally disrespected. Then he proceeded to postpone 3x while telling us when we get closer to trial he would consult with us about the case. 10 days before trial date I texted to ask about meeting and he texted back that judge wanted to see us in court in 2 days... so scary and intimidating the whole procedure and he just made it worse. 5 days before the scheduled trial date he meets with us both after we just met with judge to separate our cases and when meeting he only discussed talking with the prosecutor to negotiate. No work done on the case, he only had the discovery, no notes on the discovery, no contacting our witnesses, no negotiation on dropping any lesser charge, and he said we had to lie to the judge to get this plea deal. It was heartbreaking to realize he stole our money and hung us out to dry. When I look back, I wish I had fired him in court, in front of the judge .. even if I had to pay another lawyer.

Consulted Law firm 2023-2024I think Mr Catterlin is a stellar example of a lawyer who works to help the community of Lowell, Bentonville and Northwest Arkansas lead safer, more secure and happier lives. Mr Catterlin took time out of his vacation to help me figure out an action plan to plead a traffic ticket, while also helping me understand the nuances of the law and how courts in NWA work (as someone who is not quite used to the system here). He was not just knowledgeable, but also incredibly patient and empathetic in giving clear, pointed instructions on how I could handle the situation I am in. He gave me a call much later than normal working hours, during vacation and helped me fight a case at an NWA court.
