Hired Attorney 2023-2024I hired Attorney Marc Chavez to represent my son in a misdemeanor case in Texas. In the course of thirteen months that he represented my son, he did not act in the best interests of the client, my son; he failed to supply requested documents; he failed to adequately and clearly explain pertinent facts of the case; he was unresponsive to client’s inquiries and he failed to keep client upraised on case status. Because of all that, my son's case is in limbo.

Hired Attorney 2022Marc handled my legal matters for me over the past month and he managed to achieved the outcome I was looking for. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs sound legal advice.

Hired Attorney 2022Wow! Impressed. After almost signing with another firm I decided to go with mr. Chavez based on his reviews and how much better of a value he was then other firms I talked to. I’m so glad I did. After speaking with him and signing up on a Friday, He quickly responded in an email with of a list of documentation he needed. I promptly gave those to him and now the following Monday my case has been dismissed. Blown away with this law firm and would highly recommend.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
