    Hired Law firm 2025
I'm kind of sad to see the Virginia Beach team move to another location; but, "when I tell you". They are the best in the business, I mean it! I absolutely recommend them to anyone. They handle my bankruptcy from start to finish. Starting with Mrs. Miller and finally meeting attorney Lipp. I couldn't be more pleased. Although Mrs. Miller was leaving the team, she still performed amazingly. Then meeting her replacement even got better! They kept me informed, on schedule, and Returned, I repeat "Returned " calls promptly; and gave sound legal advice for my case. If you're looking for a detailed, informative, helpful staff you've found them. I highly recommend!

    Hired Attorney Kim Lewis 2024
Kim is unprofessional and does not return calls or emails. I got her by default after the lawyer I had quit or got terminated. I never met Kim, only received rude emails. This law firm has shown me their incompetence as they left me with a paralegal. I was left correcting all of the paperwork she had already filed so then an addendum had to be filed and that was wrong as well. They never sent papers to the courthouse until I called or emailed to ask why they had not received them. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.

    Hired Attorney Kim Lewis 2023
I found Kim Lewis to be very difficult to work with. I did see all the bad reviews before I hired her and should have taken heed to it. I’m sorry I did not. I instructed her to handle something for me, but she did not do it. Why she didn’t do it when it was legal ethical, and the right thing to do; I guess I will never know. She knew I was in pain and taking a lot of meds, but she wasn’t compassionate at all. She insisted that I come to her office 3 days in a row knowing I was sick. Just not a kind person. Kim isn’t professional either; She would not return my phone calls. I never knew what was going on with my case. I finally had to call downtown to the clerks office to find out. I never felt so uncomfortable in a office. No one would speak, smile or offer you water. The young lady that was the receptionist made a smart remark to me, and I know that one of the attorneys told her to say that to me. Having worked at a law office when I was young I know for a fact that I would NEVER talked to a client like that unless my boss told me to do that. I am just happy that I don’t have to deal with any of them anymore.

    Hired Attorney Raphael Conner 2020-2022
This attorney is not dedicated to his clients. Did not show to my granddaughters court date which then needed to be continued. The day he did not show, his office could not reach him, he did not respond to texts or phone calls, and the judge demanded that someone in his office better find him and have him reach her (judge). Very unprofessional!! 😡

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
