Hired Law firm 2024-2025I worked with Pender & Coward for the estate administration of my mother’s real estate and the real estate closing for my mother’s home.The staff and attorney I worked with at Pender & Coward were very professional, welcoming, and sensitive to all my family was dealing with during a very difficult time. The receptionist for the fourth floor was very friendly and made me feel at ease each time I arrived. The attorney I worked with, Ms. Byler, was one of the most professional people I have ever worked with. She worked through challenging estate and real estate bureaucracies, with support from the firm’s real estate and estate team, on my behalf- a lot of back and forth- without burdening me with the stress of it all during a very difficult time. When the time came to make decisions and sign the paperwork, she had it covered. She organized everything to help us understand the bureaucracies and the options in front of us to help us make informed decisions. She treated my mother, who was ill, with dignity and respect, empowering her with agency in the decision making process, something I will always be grateful for. Recently, I reached out to Ms. Byler regarding a professional legal matter. Once again, she worked diligently on my behalf, to research different options to help me. One option was to arrange for a consultation with one of her colleagues, Mr. Suit. When I met with the two of them to discuss my questions, they both seemed genuinely interested in fully understanding what I needed before considering my options. Hired Attorney Anne C. Lahren 2013-2022I've worked with Anne since my separation in 2013. Through my divorce and more custody case than I care to count, she has always been fantastic. She will do what you ask, but she will tell you if she thinks your goal is unrealistic. She is kind, intelligent, and generally amazing to work with. No one enjoys custody cases on the parent side, but she works hard to take some of the contention out of the situation. I cannot recommend her highly enough!
