I am writing to share my experience with Dickson Frohlich Phillips Burgess PLLC, a law firm based in Washington. I believe they have engaged in unethical billing practices and charged me excessive fees for legal services. Overview of the Issue: I hired Dickson Frohlich Phillips Burgess PLLC back in June 2023. I told Drew I needed a single member S corp and and a single member c corp that owns the s corp created. He told me it was a retainer of $2500 to start. I had them set me up two LLC with the SOS, two Eins with the IRS, draft 2 basic operating agreements, 1 banking resolution, and residential and subcontractor agreement for my roofing company. Despite the relatively straightforward nature of these tasks, the final bill exceeded my expectations by a significant margin. Specific Concerns: Excessive Billing: The law firm charged me over $12,000 for services that I believe could have been completed at a much lower cost. Lack of Transparency: The fee agreement did not clearly outline the scope of services or estimated fees. Unreasonable Charges: The firm charged exorbitant amounts for tasks that should have been relatively straightforward, such as drafting operating agreements and filing for EINs. Anyone who has filed for an EIN knows it doesnt take 1 hour. Template Usage: Most firms have templates yet to reduce time and cost, however I was billed at times suggesting they didnt use templates. 1 Major flag that stick out to me of many is the operating agreements. I have two duplicate single member operating agreements. How did they both take exactly 2 hours on the nose? Lets just say they spent 2 hours creating the first operating agreement why wouldnt they have just duplicated the 2nd saving time and money? instead they billed me for 2 duplicate operating agreements that both took 2 hours. Please someone have this make sense to me. They also billed me $4000 for a basic sub and resident agreement that I could've got off rocket lawyer with a subscription. I noticed the flags when i hired a Missouri lawyer to set me up the same setup. The mount of time it took him was 60% less time. I know all lawyers are different but their are major fags here, which demonstrate that the fees charged by Dickson Frohlich Phillips Burgess PLLC may be performing mis-practice. I told them last year my concerns and nothing was resolved. I recently got an email from them wanting payment again. I voiced my displeasures and told them we can settle the account but I will not be taken advantage of. I placed this review for anyone who wants to use them to do their due diligence.

I paid this law firm over $8000 to do absolutely nothing. I asked them upfront to allow me to do the necessary research on my property to gather history, but then I received a bill for over $6000 for research . It cost over $1200 to write a one page letter which turned out to be useless. They left me in the exact situation with which I started.
