Verified ClientHired Law firm 2024-2025I chose this Law Firm because my initial interaction with them was great! May spent over half an hour on the phone with me. This interaction with them felt very promising. Unfortunately after hiring them, I felt very left in the dark from that point on. Attorney Travis Goeden worked on my case. His communication level was super poor. There were many times where I reached out & never received a response, 2-3 weeks would go by & I'd have to reach out again. As a client, I felt like I wasn't prioritized at all. I regret spending money on this lawfirm, & wish I had gone with another one. My court date got rescheduled multiple times spanning over 3 months. For the 2nd rescheduled court date, he said he was going to see if we can attend virtually & he'll let me know. 2 weeks go by & he never got back to me. So the day before the court day I asked if we're supposed to be there, given that he said he was trying to do it virtually. He said they never got back to him, so he will call them in the morning (the DAY of the court day). I told him I wish I could've gotten an update sooner rather than the DAY of the court day. Then the next day he told me it had been rescheduled. He also explained that they offered me a plea deal, but he wanted to challenge the case further. Then on the 3rd rescheduled court day I went to the courthouse which is in West Bend. I live in Milwaukee, so it's quite far. I waited outside the courtroom for like 15 minutes. Then someone came out & said "I'm sorry, did your attorney not tell you he rescheduled?" I asked them "When did he reschedule?" And she said "About 2 hours ago." I tried calling Travis but it seemed like he was avoiding the call, so I emailed him. He responded right away but couldn't pick up my call? He said something came up last minute, so I told him that the person there said you rescheduled it 2hrs ago already, so he probably was lying! After my response, he tried calling asap (but couldn't pick up just a couple minutes ago?). I was angry & no longer wanted to speak to him anymore at that point. He left a message apologizing & said that something came up while he was on his way to court, which again, the person I spoke to said he had already rescheduled 2hrs ago! On our email interaction I even CC'd the Lawfirm's email in on it, so that they can see how poorly Travis was mishandling my case, but I guess they don't care. On the 4th rescheduled court day, we FINALLY get through it without having another reschedule. However, this time I was given a worse plea deal than what was initially offered a few months prior. So after months of dealing with this, rescheduling over & over again, stressing, dealing with an attorney that has such poor communication skills & felt so unprofessional, everything that happened in between those few months was for nothing, or for worse actually. Dealing with this lawfirm made an already stressful situation even more stressful. I feel like I probably could've gotten the same outcome (or better) without them, & wouldn't have had the extra stress added on or to pay $5k to this lawfirm. I knew going into this that the outcome may not be in my favor, I'm not disappointed because of that, I'm disappointed that I paid $5k for such terrible service. There were a few other lawfirms I reached out to but passed up on, that might've given me a better experience. I couldn't believe a hired attorney can have such poor service, it was such a waste of money, time, gas, etc., working with Travis. After seeing this review on Google, May Lee called to apologize. Also said they will be better next time if I or anyone I knows needs them. They will never get my money again though. Nice gesture, but it doesn't rectify anything. Again, I'm not sour about the results, this is about the poor communication. Having to wait weeks to get a reply or not getting one at all, & not being told a court date had been rescheduled having me go there for no reason. An apology just doesn't cut it!

Verified ClientConsulted Law firm 2022-2023I was totally satisfied with the outcome of my trial yesterday, being of black descendant in a predominately white town I personally felt that the odds was against me, but the Lee law firm handle my case with the up most respect and totally reassured me that I would be fine. And I’m a proud Not guilty verdict, great job by Jessica prado!

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
