Hired Law firm 2020-2023DO NOT HIRE THIS FIRM! FREDDY MEDILL IS TOTALLY INEPT! BILLING AND MORE BILLING IS ALL THIS FIRM CARES ABOUT! I needed to find a California Lawyer to represent me in a Military switched to Defense Retirement case as I no longer reside in California. Mr. Freddy Medill, a former paparazzi who should reconsider his former vocation, assured me that he would get my ex to pay legal fees as it was clearly her fault if I hired him. I told him the 3 things I wanted covered in the proceedings each and every time I corresponded with him. I borrowed money to pay the $2,500 retainer and got monthly billing statements for 6 months stating all kinds of consultations and meetings we’re being done on my case. However, when I finally contacted him, nothing had been filed and no contact with my ex or her legal team was mentioned. But, for a further $1,500 he would move forward. Months later a stop gap measure was in place until a court date could be made. At this time I started receiving monthly bills that I could not afford. I WAS REPEATEDLY THREATENED IF I COULD NOT PAY I WOULD HAVE TO REPRESENT MYSELF. I started making monthly payments and without my knowledge The Firm got my back pay and Freddy did not tell me nail I saw it on my monthly bill. An RFO was filed, but it never contained the three points I was concerned about. Freddy assured me this is how it is done, but 2 1/2 years later even the judge told him that he did not include the items I requested in his RFO. Then Freddy tired to force me to settle for 1/2 of my legal fees WHICH COINCIDENTALLY WAS MY OUTSTANDING BILL and not all of the issues resolved. He wanted me to file further proceedings at further billing for him and the firm. I could go on and on about Freddy’s ineptitude and how they passed my case off to junior lawyers. DO NOT USE THIS FIRM

Hired Law firm 2020They were a big disaster, They assigned an associate by the name of T. McCardle for my case, he was absolutely the worst lawyer on planet earth, he’s very weak and very inexperienced, he knows nothing about this work, he destroyed my case and made it even worse and worse, I am the biological father to my son, I lost my son to my ex-girlfriend which is not the biological mother, she is an alcoholic and involved with prostitution, and Mr. McCardle didn’t even succeed to get me home visitations, I’ve been and will be separated from my child for total of 8 months till my next hearing in December, make sure not to be involved with this associate, cause he will destroy your life with his ignorance and weakness. In fact I wouldn’t approach this whole firm, they have so many bad reviews, specially on yelp.

How do I choose a lawyer?
Consider the following:
- Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
- Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
- Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
- City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?
Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?
Here are a few to get you started:
- How long have you been in practice?
- How many cases like mine have you handled?
- How often do you settle cases out of court?
- What are your fees and costs?
- What are the next steps?
Want to check lawyer discipline?
It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:
- Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
- Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
- Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
