Hired Law firm 2024I was disappointed. I had worked well with an Lawyer who had her own practice in 2008 to develop a trust. In 2024 I wanted a restatement of my Trust, Will, POA and Medical POA due to various life events that had occurred. The original lawyer was now part of Johnston, Kinney and Zulaica. I contacted the law firm and described my updates - providing a document (2 new executors/appointees - and updates to funds distribution). An introductory meeting was held with a new set of lawyers, they retrieved the paperwork from 2008 and I was informed of the estimated cost range and agreed to move forward. There was minimal communication needed and the restatement was made. The disappointment I have is that the actual costs came in 65% over the top end of the cost estimate - with no proactive communications that the law firm was exceeding the estimate, why it was exceeding the cost, or ways to keep costs down.
