Horrible law firm. Greedy. Not one lawyer contacted me during the 4 years my settlement was going on

    Hired Law firm 2014-2022
I hired this firm to deal with a severe injury that I got after taking Xarelto. I had a blood vessel burst in my spine rendering me paralysed from my waist down. My son started to file this lawsuit on my behalf which went on for years. I received very little money not even enough to cover my caregivers or any pain and suffering. This law firm collected the majority of my award and kept it for themselves. They also claimed that I had to reimburse the military insurance Tricare as well as Medicare for my medical expenses. This left me with peanuts. I fully believe this firm took advantage of me and that I was ripped off.

    Hired Law firm 2018-2021
I hired this company to file IVC filter case 2018. they settled in 2020. I have called and emailed asking about my case. Keep getting run around every time. Always 30-60 or 60-90 days before I would receive my settlement. Would not recommend this firm to anyone. They sit on settlements to collect interest and add up fees .

When viewing a listing, consider the state advertising restrictions to which lawyers and law firms must adhere, as well as our FindLaw.com Legal Directory disclaimer. Some lawyers publish comparative information regarding the services that they provide which may be subject to specific comparative communications restrictions.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

  • Comfort Level – Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?
  • Credentials – How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?
  • Cost – How are the lawyer's fees structured — hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?
  • City – Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
