Had been assaulted by a manager at my place of employment, it was on video and they would put forth so little effort I ended with a settlement much smaller than it should've been because "well, that's all they want to pay"....I'm sorry WTF???? Since when does that matter??? Long story short, was assigned to Kathleen Mannion, she dragged her feet for over a year and then all she could do is ask me the same questions over and over because she doesn't listen. She actually tried to get me accept a ridiculously low offer because " juries don't have sympathy for men"...Wow how very sexist of you Kate and a great way to convey that you're not going to do your job. Even after talking to the managing partner, Anne Schiavone about how I felt my case didn't get the effort and $$ it should've she basically told me to take a long walk off a short bridge and couldn't care less about how I felt. Bottom line if you have an issue with your employer, hire a different firm as this one will not do you any justice! If you do hire these clowns though, make sure negotiate that their fee includes their expenses(they charged me 45% PLUS the cost of any filing fees etc they had to advance. Every law firm I have ever heard of does not take additional money, just the agreed upon percentage) Bottom line don't walk away from these crooks, RUN!

My attorney kept me informed of everything that was going on, from the start to the end. Guided me in making the right decision and reassuring me that they would be by side in whatever decision I chose. Overall very happy with my attorney and would definitely use them again.

How do I choose a lawyer?

Consider the following:

Comfort Level
- Are you comfortable telling the lawyer personal information? Does the lawyer seem interested in solving your problem?

Credentials
- How long has the lawyer been in practice? Has the lawyer worked on other cases similar to yours?

Cost
- How are the lawyer's fees structured - hourly or flat fee? Can the lawyer estimate the cost of your case?

City
- Is the lawyer's office conveniently located?

Not sure what questions to ask a lawyer?

Here are a few to get you started:

  • How long have you been in practice?
  • How many cases like mine have you handled?
  • How often do you settle cases out of court?
  • What are your fees and costs?
  • What are the next steps?

Want to check lawyer discipline?

It is always a good idea to research your lawyer prior to hiring. Every state has a disciplinary organization that monitors attorneys, their licenses, and consumer complaints. By researching lawyer discipline you can:

  • Ensure the attorney is currently licensed to practice in your state
  • Gain an understanding of his or her historical disciplinary record, if any.
  • Determine the seriousness of complaints/issues which could range from late bar fees to more serious issues requiring disciplinary action.
