Firm Information
Overview
Operating from our office on Pacific Heights Boulevard in San Diego, The Law Offices of Mark Deniz APLC provides skilled representation in criminal defense, DUI, prostitution and solicitation, and domestic violence matters, in addition to serving clients through our main San Diego location and branches in Escondido, Carlsbad, Chula Vista and our Treena Street office.
Founder Mark Deniz has dedicated over 20 years to the practice of criminal law, beginning his career on the prosecution side after graduating from law school in 2002 and earning his license to practice in California in 2003. He prosecuted cases as a deputy district attorney in Tulare County from 2004 to 2009, then continued in that role as a deputy city attorney for the City of San Diego through 2013, when he transitioned to founding our defense-focused practice.
That transition did not diminish his insight into how the state operates – if anything, it sharpened it. We draw directly on his years of experience within the prosecution, crime labs and law enforcement agencies to construct defense strategies built on real institutional knowledge rather than guesswork. Instead of waiting for the prosecution to dictate the pace of a case, we begin our own investigation immediately, searching for leverage points we can use to our clients' advantage.
Mr. Deniz has pursued continuous professional development through the U.S. Department of Justice, the San Diego County District Attorney's Office and the California District Attorneys Association, supplemented by coursework at Harvard Law School and the National College for DUI Defense. A former NCAA Division I football player, he brings a competitor's mindset to each case, and his regular presence in San Diego County courtrooms has earned him recognition among local judges and prosecutors.
We also understand that a criminal charge can strain finances at the worst possible time, which is why we design payment plans around what actually works for each client – ensuring cost is never the reason someone goes without the defense they deserve.
